Yesterday it was Old Boys Day at Glenwood High School and the traditional derby match between the Green Machine and DHS took place on the main Dixon field. Since my kids have been at Glenwood (beginning around 2003) I can’t recall a time when DHS actually beat Glenwood. Yesterday was no different with the home team delivering a rather heavy handed 34-9 defeat to the other school on the Berea.

I went down with one of my cameras and a lens I am in the process of evaluating for a review, namely the Sigma 120-300mm 2.8 OS. Lighting conditions for the rugby were terrible. It was grey, dull and overcast. I wasn’t very happy with the resulting pictures, but I must admit, it’s been a very long time since I last photographed a whole rugby match and I am pretty rusty!

So, looking through the 250+ images I took, these are a few of the decent ones. I decided to give them a special treatment in Lightroom, which I think actually works quite well given the crappy lighting conditions.
