POCiT Car Giveaway

May 15, 2009 in Photography, Shoots

Recently I was asked to photograph a car give away event for one of my ad agency clients, 34 Brand Activation who are based in Cape Town. The prize giving was held at the University Of KZN’s Westville Campus, which I might add is HUGE! I’d never been there before, so finding The Quad was an exercise and then finding parking near The Quad was even worse!

The shooting situation was very challenging as the clients had set up in the shade under a big tree, whereas the rest of The Quad was swarthed in super bright sunlight. Not a good situation for any type of photography because the change in contrast can be really difficult to meter, plus the car they gave away was white. I used an SB-800 flash on the Nikon D200 and set it to FP high speed synch. Not my best output, but I think the pictures tell the story well and the client is happy (which is all we can ever really ask for).

The photos for the SASAD Congress 2009 have all been printed and are ready for delivery. I was hoping to get these off earlier but getting hold of teachers to make drop off arrangements during all these the holidays has not been the easiest thing to do. I will be posting those who provided addresses tomorrow (2 May). If you are in Durban and want to collect your photos from my house please just contact me and I will make a time to do that.

Interior decor photography

Nov 18, 2008 in Photography, Shoots

I have always been enamoured with interior design. Therefore it pleased me a lot to have recently been asked to photograph some stunning interiors for one of my website clients, Floordom (who are agents and installers of top quality laminate floors in Durban).

The photos I took for Floordom were very well received by the company, as well as their clients. I find that of all the many different types of photography I have done, interior photography is to me the most satisfying.

MoneyGram Agent Africa Conference 2008

Sep 05, 2008 in Shoots

I recently photographed a 3-day Conference event for Terry Sutherland & Associates and their client MoneyGram. It was a tough shoot that had me on my toes the entire time and called on me to use just about all my photographic experience to bring together everything from one light studio type portraits of all the delegates to slow synch flash in dimly lit conditions and a 70-person group photo. But I really enjoyed it.

Meeting delegates from countries all over Africa and MoneyGram’s wide international network was also a great experience. Many thanks go to Sue Aerts (the most organised person I have ever met) from TS&A for giving me this opportunity to showcase my photography.

TS&A and MoneyGram staff and agents can access the Team building photos here and the individual portraits here.

Today I uploaded 150 random photos taken at the 2008 SASAD Congress at Danville Girls High School into my gallery. If you are interested in purchasing a digital copy of the photo (which will be high res and unwatermarked) please contact me via email. I will send you an invoice and then prepare a place for you to download the images.

There are some additional photos that were taken of the acrobatics class that I still need to get online, so if you are looking for those, please bear with me – I’ll have them up soon (I hope!).

SASAD Congress

Apr 22, 2008 in Photography, Shoots

Greetings!

All photos ordered at the SASAD Congress have been printed and either mailed or taken to your dance teachers. There are about 10 people who only gave me their cell phone numbers so I have sent you an SMS explaining where you can collect your prints.

Unfortunately my Coppermine Gallery website got hacked last week so I have not been able to put up the other photos yet. Nasty Ukrainian hackers had their way with me! I will be putting up the photos on this new site, so keep your eyes peeled for them.
